Michael Thonet is a master cabinetmaker who developed the technology of bending wood for use in furniture in the mid-19th century. In Europe they are better known as Bentwood.
This project is an attempt to understand what features and techniques we can borrow from time-tested ancient technologies. The Thonet Gothic chairs are our homage to the work of the great Viennese master. They are deliberately decorative and recognizable, but they have an inextricable visual connection with their predecessors and everyone recognizes them as “Viennese chairs”.

-Study and analyze the heritage of the Thonet brand. Maintain recognizable brand features in the design.
-Emphasize the possibilities and aesthetics of bent wood as a material. Provide for the possibility of implementation in other materials while maintaining the visual image.
-Develop a rigid sustainable structure based on architectural solutions.
-Create a principle with the ability to replicate to a collection.
