2012: The Murmeli Odyssey

2012: The Murmeli Odyssey was a two-month project by three programmers and a 2D artist made during the fall of 2012.

The game revolves around small, furry, and cute animals in deep-space outposts trying to warn their homeworld of an impending doom by utilizing unconvieniently placed worm holes. They must reach these wormholes by using devices that generate gravity on-demand, and plunge into the cold vacuum of space in hopes of success.

The game was programmed using XNA and C#.

Timo Luukkonen:

During this project I learned a great deal about trigonometry and the importance of well-planned code architecture design, as well as some game design. Also, the vast importance of revision control software when developing games in teams was reasonably obvious after this project.

Jarno Hyrkäs:

This was the first game project I've been involved in. Learning how to code a basic game was my primary goal. A lot of things were learned concerning mathematics, coding structure, game saving and making compatible code with other team members.
