One of the first digital illustrations I did using Procreate. Heavily referenced Paul Zia’s photography so as I could focus on rendering, experimenting on textures and composition.
Verðandi (Old Norse, meaning “present” or “happening”) often anglicized as Verdandi or Verthandi. Along with Urd and Skuld, the are described as the female beings who create and control the fate of the cosmos.
The Norns reside in a hall by the Well of Fate beneath the World Tree called Yggdrasil, which holds the Nine Worlds in its branches and roots.
