Hybrid Animal Concept Art/Character Design
«Concept Art» Animal Hybride
The goal here was to come up with my own IP of an animal hybrid that is part of a future race. I had to come up with the two animals that I wanted to merge into one, the environment it would survive in and also the rider character that rides that animal.
I combined a giant anteater with a brown bear. At the time, I was particularly obsessed with anteaters and thought how come I never saw many illustrations with them, so I wanted to make one. Below is the progress of my work, which shows my brainstorming and sketching stages as well as my 3D sculptures made in 3Dsmax and Mudbox.
L'objectif était de créer ma propre propriété intellectuelle d'un animal hybride faisant partie d'une race future. Je devais trouver les deux animaux que je voulais fusionner en un seul, l'environnement dans lequel il survivrait et aussi le personnage qui chevaucherait cet animal.
J'ai combiné un fourmilier géant avec un ours brun. À ce moment-là, j'étais particulièrement obsédé par les fourmiliers et j'ai pensé que je ne voyais jamais beaucoup d'illustrations avec eux, alors j'ai voulu en faire une.
