As a marketing professional, graphic designer, and musician, I am honored to have had opportunities to be part of many life changing projects. One of my favorite memories from my first year volunteering with Hair Matters was writing the song for a heartfelt cancer awareness fundraising video, which conveyed a sense of hope and meaning throughout the video.
Hair Matters is a nonprofit offering professional salon services and resources, in a non-medical setting, to those affected by cancer treatment related hair changes. The charity helps to reduce fear and isolation, while restoring participant's sense of identity, vitality, and hope.
With direction from Debby Porter, CEO of Hair Matters, Maine filmmaker Reggie Groff produced a powerful fundraising video featuring stories by courageous women who had experienced cancer, and the positive impact the community at Hair Matters had on their lives.
