The book „Man muss sich für bestimmte Dinge entscheiden“ (You have to decide for certain things) documentates the oeuvre of Ute Eskildsen, the former director of the Fotografische Sammlung (photographic collection) of the Museum Folkwang in Essen (1979 to 2012) with photos, posters, exhibition sights and a comprehensive chronology of Mrs. Eskildsens exhibitions.
Restructuring the content, the book shows up five emphases, which were very important in the life of Mrs Eskildsen.
The Reader is invited to take part in kind of a virtual tour through 34 years of german photography history. The exhibition posters were set right into the Museum so that the spectator may roam alongside the museum walls.
Concluding there is the possibility to get an insight into the publications made by Ute Eskildsen, which are completely rearanged to something new, like a mashup.
