SHADED TRUTHS is a photographic and sculptural love story comprised of codes, clues, and pseudo-mystical objects. The merit of the artifacts and photographs depicted and obscured are largely dependent on a constructed air of mystery. Upon a dedicated investigation of the work, they become seductive, semi-opaque, frustrating, and rewarding. By subverting truths and concocting myths within this collection of self-contained narratives, I have attempted to tiptoe across the thin ice that separates fact and fiction, and by giving the viewer a concise selection of photographs and found objects of a poetic and sacred nature that contain within themselves, their own secrets and their own truths, the viewer is instructed to play detective to the artist’s web of shaded truths.
