The series premiered in December 2020 and quickly became a worldwide sensation. One of its appeal is - without a doubt - the costumes. Ellen Mirojnick, the costume designer, transforms familiar Regency-era silhouettes into something fresh and fantastical. With vibrant colours and modern details, viewers relate better to the show and thus born ‘Regencycore’, a new trend mixing Regency and modern fashion.
After the release of season 2 in March 2022, more fashion and beauty brands have created a Bridgerton-inspired collection, which also inspired me to create a capsule collection of my own.
I took inspirations from both seasons of the show, including little elements like the bee that is crucial to the second season and hyacinths that appears a lot in the show and also the first name of the youngest Bridgerton sibling. In terms of the color palette, I drew inspiration from the 3 prominent families featured in the show: the Bridgertons, the Featheringtons, and the Sharmas. The three families have very different aesthetic and contrasting background that is reflected in their choice of color.
