This was a group project assigned to us during our Fundamentals of Graphic Design module. Each group was to create a different product with the primary element as tangrams based on the topic assigned to them. My group's topic was 'Kids' Learning Aid'. After brainstorming we decided on designing 2 products- an alphabet book and a storybook bundle of 2 short stories. Our target audience was toddlers ages 2-5 years.

We have designed the alphabet book by creating 7 short books in the shape of the tangrams. Each book except one consists of 4 letters with the corresponding picture. We created all the pictures in this book in the form of tangrams on Illustrator to go with the theme. So instead of looking at a regular picture starting with a particular letter, say an airplane, the child will be looking at the tangrams arranged in the form of that object. I created half of these forms on Illustrator while my teammate created the other half.

We also wanted to create storybooks that require the child to actively be more involved in the story. So we designed them in the form of flashcards with the characters in tangram form. Each of the two storybooks comes with 4 flashcards showing key scenes of the story and 1 card with the main content written on it. The parent can read the story to the child and then he can arrange these cards in chronological order by memory.
