 Voice & Composition Task 1
Lottus Blossom Method
Using the Lottus Blossom method to create a variety of themese and sub-themes, I wanted to base my Voice and Compositon project on the general theme of protection. I thought of many themes that can relate to "protection" in which I feel are relative to me such as Nature,  Climate, Terriroty, and most importantly more inner-personal emotions like Ego, Future, and insecurities. After this stage I further explored sub themese within the first stage of themese and was able to find many themese in which I thought would be a great and expressive topic to use for this assignment. Some of the final themes that caught my attention were ones such as innocence, growing, inspiration, hope, unknown, dreaming etc. and some negative themese like depression, mistakes, greed, and ego. I was more than happy with the choices of tooic I had got and wanted to further expore these things in the next stages of this task and see how I can join all these themes to make one narrative.

Inspirational Images
For the Inspirational images I wanted to find some photos that will help me better understand some of the themes I had chose and find out more in depth what they mean to me. To shoecase the general theme of a child and their innocence through the first photos at the top left corner. The Deer and its child gave me a sense of protecting. The final three photos for me juxtaposes two different feelings of anxiety/depression through the hand coming out of the water and the women in distress and freedom through the the image of a gay pride parade. After contstructing this board of inspirational image, i further analyzed how each photo can possibly correlate with one another and after hours of thinking I was able to come up with a final theme to narrate for this assignment which I will be explaining in the next paragraph.
Moodboard
After conducting the second stage of this task and further analyzing to come up with the theme; I finalized my narrative story and wanted to narrate how we should allow children to become what ever they want to be. I wanted to narrate this because sometimes older generations can be a bit harsh on what kids want to do in the future and in most cases shut them down at an early age. Although being realistic is a big part and very important I think at the adolescent age we should allow kids to be as creative as possible because I believe that is an important stage of growing up and as they grow we should let the universe tell them where theyre going. I also recently watched a video of kids describing what they are going to be in the future to an illustrator and was really inspired of how kind and supportive the illustrator was to the children becuase it brought so much joy to their expression. In addition I was inspired because at time I get a bit depressed and lost because I feel like society and the world push down my hopes of wanting to be or do something. In this moodboard you can see many photos relating to children, creativity, dreaming and some photos that give a sense of hope. I added a photo I had taken a while back of the sun hitting one of my little cousin while she eats her popcorn and you can see in the back of my older sister who is an adult now, sleeping and I saw in this photo that it depicts the stages of growing up from being a child to an adult and how tiring being an adult may be for some people. I then added some music inspiration that are heavily inspired on protecting their children such as "Mother" by Cleo Sol and the track "Violent crimes" by Kanye West. I aslo went back to my Lottus Blossom and checked to see if there were any other themese I can use and add into this project and wanted to use sun set. I found an image of sunrays peaking through trees and decided that I wanted to mix shadows in my task 2.
Task 2
FSN 221 Reflection
Overall I feel I learned many things within this course. I am currently finishing up my third year in Fashion communication and although this is a first year course, it helped me a lot. I was never a huge fan of Illustrator and never really practiced it on my personal time but I thought these assignment were very fun and felt like I got a lot of creative freedom in this course compared to other Adobe Ilustrator courses. My favourite assignment was Shape and colour. I felt very confident and learned lots about my skills in Illustrator. The tonal mapping in this project felt like my cup of tea and was very proud of myself and the projects final outcome. I also enjoyed making the posters at the begining of the semester and one day possibly work to be a graphic designer. aproject that would be cool for future students of this class I think would be an assignment where we were able to make a poster for a real business/company and allow them to pick the best one. I think that would motivate the students to do their best and will be great portfolio work. For the Task 2 assignment I wanted to use the skills and techniques used in the shape and colour project such as tonal mapping and usings shapes to create design. I felt very confident during the first stages of that project.
Based on the themes I had discovered during the process of task 1; I decided that I wanted to create a GIF animation dipicting a child and the multple choices he/she has when she grows up and how their are a window of opporunities as a child.
Using one of my original pictures located in the moodboard, I used my little cousin as the main figure for the project, I loved the was she was posing and saw much oppotunity to create more of a lanscape for the GIF Animation. For the GIF I wanted to use one of the themese I further analyzed which is shadows, I wanted to create multiple shadow figure showcasing different occupations and different things a child would hope to be growing up.

After making the figure I had constructed a a playroom for the background and added various props to the room such as the tv, and others that I remeber from my own playroom when I was a kid. After that I made shadows of an astronaught, a basketball player and chef, then to finalize merged all the layers to make it a GIF animation.

Task 2 Reflection
For my Final design I reallyy want to showcase how important everyones childhood stage is when you get the right support. I wanted to specifically show how important ones persoal space is for everyone, in this illustration I dipicted a playroom becuase personally I thought that was a place where I first learned about myself and was inspired by many things such through my toys and TV. I think we as a society just allow kids just to be kids and lets them dream of what ever they want to, and if they aren't realist then we shoudl just let the universe tell them. I thought using shadows to depict the types of opportunties one has for their future was a simple and direct idea so everyone would be able to understand it. Everything I had inputted in this assignment is inspired by my own self and included occupations which I had wanted to as kid looking into his future.
