Our first 'calender concept' was a flipboardcalender with on each flipboard the whole month in days plus a photo next to it of a topmodel wearing new clothes for that month she's ( or he's ) on it.

It also had to contain a hidden notebook which the topmodels could use to note their next 'catwalk appointment' ( for example ) or just point of time what she or he is going to do in his/her spare time.

Granted, this concept wasn't really out of the box so it wasn't a good start. But later on when my companion and I thought better and harder about how a 'topmodel' would think, we came up with a better concept to make a special calender that is suitable for only topmodels.
My companion and I thought about stuff that topmodels would mostly buy, because it's a 'must' for them to have. So we came up with the idea to put the date of the day on a "wannahave" thingy that a topmodel usually uses, and that was in our opinion perfumebottles.

It's common for the topmodels when they are at a store buying things that could make them perfect or smell good. Our inspiration for making a suitable perfumebottle design came indeed from the designs of Jean Paul Gaultier.

Using other styles and ways I sketched two perfume designs for both men and women models to use, which are similair to Jean Paul's perfume designs but still different. Plus I've made at the cap of the selfmade bottles the men and women symbol to make it more clear of which one is the man design and which one is the woman design.

Still I thought that these selfmade perfume designs weren't gonna be our end products to show, because it has a clichéd look in my perspective. But we've kept the concept because it was our best one, and my companion and I didn't thought that this was a bad idea to use for making a calender.
So I decided to make more perfumebottle designs for the 'women' version, which were more curvy, round and had smooth shapes as a characterize. Finally I've designed 10 different perfume models to choose out for an end product.
And also for the 'men' version I've designed 10 different perfume models which were more blocky, angular and had more geometric shapes as a characterize.
After making a hard decision of which men perfumebottle and women perfumebottle it should be, I chose the "cuboctahedron" shape for the men perfumebottle, because it had a rough but good sculpture of a men's chest. ( just look good at it and you'll see a blocky men's chest ).

This reason goes as same to the choice for the women perfumebottle. If you look at the bottle you'll see a women's chest plus the long neck. That's why I gave the caps for both bottles a round and ellipse shape, that should visualize the "heads".

I've sketched the workings of the perfume bottle next to the final models, the working should be that when you press the button one time on a day, you'll spray a nice perfume smell AND the date numbers will turn into the exact date of that day and year, if you press the button again on the same day you did before it will only spray then.

There's a sensor in the bottle that knows when it's the next day, so it knows when it should turn the numbers for that date of the day and year. If you don't use the bottle everyday or leave the thing for a few days the calender will automatically turn itself to the exact date of the day and year. Yep, it's all in the mechanism that's inside the perfumebottles.
And finally, the presentationmodels of the "Geurkalender", as me and my companion called the product ( it would be "scentcalender" in English ). This is the womenversion ofcourse, for all the female topmodels.
And for the male topmodels, there is the men version of the "Scentcalender".

The Calendar

I've worked four weeks on this project "the Calendar", which simply meant to design a calendar that is an original concept and "out of the box". Read More
