Slash Pine Tech is a technology consulting business that builds custom software solutions. Using their name, Slash Pine (which is a pine tree native to North Florida), we created a brand identity that leaned into the theme of forestry. Slash Pine already had a logo created by Cayden Ledford which I refreshed a bit and fleshed out the whole visual identity including a secondary marks and badges, custom illustration style, web design etc.
It's a delicate balance to have a brand that follows a specific theme. If you lean too hard into the metaphor you can end up confusing your audience. If you don't lean in enough, it can feel half hazard or boring. However, if you do it right it definitely pays off!
