Yabin Studio:

Founded in 2009 and named after Yabin first name, Yabin Studio was designed to produce repertoire and programs featuring dance, drama and other theatrical productions for public performances, commercial or non-commercial. It's also a art platform where Yabin and other artists as well as provide a sharing space for professional dancers or audience tailored to their needs.

In the past few years, many dancers has taken on opportunities of casting dancers and performers, production, choreographic support as well as rehearsal for many important performances including Yabin & Her Friends, an annual dance repertoire produced by Yabin and her collaborative partners, normally the most outstanding choreographers, dancers and musicians, stage designer, costume designers, etc.Yabin & Her Friends an annual production of dance performances is designed as a platform, where Yabin, one of the most talented and creative dancers, choreographers and the producer of the captioned program, has aggregated the best talents across disciplinary sectors of dance to produce top-notch dance performances since 2009. 

Since its existence, it has produced 10 major art works, performed with the participation of over 200 of the best choreographers, dancers, composers and musicians at the best theatres and festivals, in China and oversea. Each year, the Yabin & Her Friends performance always identifies a subject as the theme of the dance program.

YABIN WANG is China’s most renowned contemporary dancer and choreographer. She has won numerous gold prizes in Chinese national and regional dance competitions. In 2009 Yabin Wang started her own dance company, Yabin Studio, and has produced a dance performance every year since then under the brand name Yabin & Her Friends. Her dance company produces full-length dance programs and commissions choreographers from the US, Europe, and China to create new works of dance. Her extraordinary talent has received praise from critics and artists alike, both as a dancer as well as a choreographer. She has gained a reputation on as the most promising and pioneering choreographer, dancer, and producer of new contemporary dance in and outside China.

As dancer, choreographer and producer, she creates productions with an international perspective. Works she created in which she was also principle dancer have won raves from media and audiences around the world. She worked with Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui，Tamara Rojo(ENB Artistic Director) ,Wim Vanderkeybus, and so on. Yabin was recognised as “one of the most important dancers in Asia” by Knack Focus.

In 2013 Yabin Studio commissioned Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui and production the new piece "Genesis生长".In 2014, Tamara Rojo, Artistic Director of the English National Ballet has invited Yabin Wang to choreograph a dance work for a new production by English National Ballet dedicated to female choreographers entitled “She Said”.The performance premiered at Sadler’swells on April 13th, 2016.English National Ballet for expanding the variety of their repertoire with Akram Khan’s Giselle and She Said! English National Ballet won Oliver Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Dance for expanding the variety of their repertoire with Akram Khan’s Giselle and She Said.Yabin Wang is one of the choreographers for She Said.She is invited and commissioned to choreograph and dance a solo at the Wondrous Women at the ADF's 85th Anniversary; The same year, she was appointed by French Ambassador along with other artists such as Jia Zhangke, Cui Jian, Sui Jianguo and others as the Ambassadors for promoting French -China Croisements Festival.also in 2018, she is invited by Tim Supple as the choreographer and movement designer for NCPA's production of the Tempest ; in Sept. 2018, "An Individual Soliloquy," a dance drama,  choreographed and produced by her had its world premiere in Beijing.In July 2019, Kilden Theatre and Kilden Performing Arts Center in Norway will be performing a large outdoor production of Henrik Ibsen’s famous play The Lady from the Sea in collaboration with Yabin Studio.Yabin was as the choreographer and main character “Lady”.In 2020,“World” was invited by International Tanzmesse NRW in Dusseldorf.In June 2021,Yabin was commissioned by Su Zhou Ballet Dance Company for full-length Ballet "My Name is Lilac".

In addition, the dancers and choreographers that Yabin worked before include Mark Haim, Elisabeth Roxas-Dobrish, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa, Aszure Barton, Camille A. Brown, Michelle Dorrance, Aparna Ramaswamy, Rhapsody James and Pulitzers price winning composer Zhou Long and Tony Award winning composer Jocelyn Pook.  

2014: The 6th Yabin & Her Friends “Dream in Three Episodes” premiered at NCPA, "Genesis"Tour all over the world

2015: The 7th Yabin & Her Friends “The Moon Opera” premiered at NCPA and touring in China

2016: The 8th Yabin & Her Friends –“M-Dao” a part of a triple bill known as “ She Said”, a dance choreographed by Yabin Wang, commissioned by Tamara Rojo, the Artistic Director of English National Ballet and produced by the company;

2017: “The Moon Opera” Tel Aviv Opera Theatre, Israel; CODA Oslo International Dance Festival (Part of the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet’s);16 performances throughout China

2018: The 9th Yabin & Her Friends “An Individual Soliloquy” premiered at Tian Qiao Art Performance Centre;International Arts Festival for the First, Us(Pittsburgh); 16 performances throughout China

2019: The 10th-11th Yabin & Her Friends “World” premiered at Tian Qiao Art Performance Centre;"Triple Bill"10th season celebration at NCPA ；"The Lady From The Sea"at Fjæreheia Amfi
