Industrial Design 102 Backgammon Board Design Project
Started with sketches.
Continued with cardboard mockups.
Continued with simple fabric mockups.
End with a canvas fabric backgammon.
Backgammon can be folded with ease and be carried with its' pouch.
Mockup of pair of dice and 30 checkers are made out of play dough but intended to be done with walnut tree.
Both the board and the pouch is made out of the same canvas material.
Pouch is hand-sewn from a canvas and has a upcycled shoe lace instead of a cord to seal the pouch while carrying
Color scheme:
3 colors base colors for the board
2 colors for the 15+15 checkers
1 color for the pair of dice
Extra colors for the drawings on the points
Restrictions:
A pair of dice
24 points (originally triangles)
4 quadrants
15+15 checkers
Must be portable
Must have strong contrast
Dice must have sharp corners
Chessboard shouldn't exist
