Metasketching research

Wrap-up. A bit of the progress, there is still a lot to do, but hey, here we are.
As you've probably noticed, I am running (doctorate) research focusing on "ideation sketching". I am looking for new ways how to escape sticky creative habits, muscle memory, or routine problem-solving.

These contact sheets follow up with a summary of the second phase of my experimentation. In this stage, I have used AI and VR to create conceptual sketches that carry all the engaging ambiguity of the handmade sketches while being fully done in digital and 3d.

The first stage opened a series of my attempts to leverage VR to break muscle memory, AI to break color palette choices, and to liberate me from repetitive use of form language.
The goal of such imagery is strictly to contribute to the ideation process, to allow multiple interpretations, and to encourage viewers to carry on with their own evolution of the concept. They are intentionally abstract and somehow ambiguous, yet they have readable elements that set the direction where idation is meant to happen.

I am more than curious about your opinions or experiences with such a topic. Please feel free to comment or PM me.

Note: For those who had followed my previous posts, it should be no surprise that this whole series is dedicated to one and only Syd Mead.
