BRASILIA
Concrete is a mixture of sand, gravel, cement and water.

It’s the world most commonly used building material and allows us to create whatever shape the architect envisions. The architecture style of brutalism is called like that because of the french word, Béton Brut, or raw concrete, not because its mostly brutal, bunkerlike, futuristic looking buildings of the 60s and 70s.

Some people despise it, some people don´t care, some people love it. You can count me to the latter ones.

When we did the scouting with Andreas May with KGB Locationservice for a personal project and I saw the Hygiene Institute in Berlin, I instantly knew, that I wanted to shoot there.
The combination of the rigid concrete and the green plants gave me the idea to call the project BRASILIA. (funny though, we ended up not shooting with a lot of plants…)

The pure beauty of the building, contrasted by the fabulous models Linus by pma_models and Carolin  by m4models in Interaction with the Audi Etron show a nice juxtaposition of a time when everything seemed to be possible and actual futuristic technology like emobility.

Stark shadows , strong contrast  and some colorful splashes masterfully curated by stylist Irina Skladkowski c/o liganord_agency and beautified by Kerstin Hoffmann Makeup with basicsberlin was exactly what I planned for the photoshoot , so I was very happy when the weather played along and the sun came out.

if you are interessted in the styling: Suit by Alexperry by netaporter, mules and trackpants by bottegaveneta, glasses by mykitaofficial. Sneaker and Polo by Prada.

Post Production by me.

Great set up, great team and as a surprise my agent Kelly Kellerhoff came along and brought cake! What a day! Thanks to everybody involved.
