Meru is a main hero of the project. Hero that looks like a villain. She can see that the young Mari isn't capable with her new powers yet and Meru is here to clean all the mess. But due to her black and white appearance - she might trigger everyone to think that she is the creator of all the chaos around.

But this is the player's choice - whether he will go for a bad or a good ending.
