Thomas More University: Sustainability Celebration Day
The goal of this assignment was to create a logo to use for Thomas More's Sustainability Celebration day. Everyone in our class made one, something fun to advertise the day of educational events planned for students and visitors alike to learn more about environmentalism and sustainability.
This was the logo I created. I used the iconic "S" logo Thomas More is known for. I wanted to capture the role that we, as students and Thomas More saints, play in protecting the world. When our logos were finished, the organizer for the event picked his favorite. While it did not end up being me, I still created some posters using the logo.
These are three posters I ended up with. I enjoyed playing with repeated patterns as well as different opacities to create different feelings for each poster. I believe all these turned out well, with my favorite being the one in the middle.

The black squares were meant to be the QR code used for the event, but we were not given the code at the time of designing.
Along with making posters for our own logos, we were also tasked with making 3 posters for the winning logo designer by the name of Devin Esterline. I especially enjoyed his bold color selection and used them as inspiration throughout my posters. Looking back, I wanted to use these designs to learn and experiment with different poster ideas, since I created these before I created my own. While I don't think I was successful in creating the fun, educational vibe that the event was going for, I still feel like I learned a lot.
