GPS exhibit for Scitech

GPS exhibit for Scitech
Scitech is an interactive science museum with exhibitions designed for under 12-year-olds. In this project, they were creating an exhibition about Mapping and Navigation.

I was assigned to design one of the exhibits which were about GPS and how it works. I conceived an interactive method of engagement for Scitech visitors to explain how GPS works.

I designed the exhibit to showcase the core science behind how GPS works. Our GPS device connects to three satellites and calculates our location based on where their signals collide.

I designed the exhibit with 3 satellites placed on a high curved platform with a night star background, that emit a ring of light of different color on a map below them. Each light would be enabled by the push of a button with the corresponding color. The place where the rings collided would show where the person is.
