My work in progress for the design of a poster inspired on what happened around my on new years' eve. Lies Van Gasse (writer and poet, my collegue and good friend) wrote a poem about the duck that smashed near us and died immediately after being haunted by the fireworks. We don't need anything more to create. Read Less

Poem by Lies Van Gasse
Artwork and illustration  by Kathy De Wit

Inspired on a very strange moment Lies wrote a poem about the fact that many birds in natural reserves and in every corner of the country are startled by the horrifying fireworks on new years night.
The Belgian Meteo in fact has visual evidence through sattelite images of the sudden outflow of birds on the exact moment of midnight. It's kind of terror what's happening with those animals.

Lies wrote her touching poem about it and I started illustrating and designing. It's a mixture of my memory image of the dying duck near my feat haunted by the terrifying noise and crashed in his flight...and the inspiration that came out by the words of Lies.

Every feedback is very welcome.
