Working with Legendary Hip Hop artist King Sun has been Real, Educating, and uncensored all at the same time. So many experiences and events taught me about origins of Hip Hop History, the
Art of MCing, lyrics and just Life (Living Righteously) in general. Every night whether it was
Hanging at a club, bar, remixing at Lil Shanghi Studios, my time spent documenting Sun's career
for my school video has been a blessing. Too bad our friendship had to be cut so short, due to
Video production costs.
While SUN was still in Los Angeles, I went to his house early one day and spoke to him about
Possibly shooting a gaming style, sci fi rap Video. I began working on a storyboard in which my
main character is a community rapper. Stylisticly it would have been Rap meets Marvel, mixed in
with "Call of Duty", as sun takes theviewer on a street voyage. My storyboard represented King
Sun as a hero. The video would have been real heavy on the game 3D graphics. Unfortunatly,
because of the budget at that moment, plans had to been halted. I also have restricted copyrights
and limited legalities to release the sketchbook on this video. Just recently I saw him on a judging
panel for eliminating contestants for some, "Who can Rap" Rapper reality show. I know one day
when SUN makes it back from NYC to LA, my dream of directing this once in a life time video will
come true.
