This studio is about how the territory influences architecture and vice versa how architecture shapes the territory. This studio is about the importance of open and public space. The urgency of this matter is highlighted even more in the current time due to the corona pandemic.

The Productive Playgarden is a social, economical project for and with the people of Muide Meulestede situated next to 't Oud Postje. 

On the scale of the island, the intervention will take a part in the reinforcement of the economy in Muide Meulestede to create a self-sufficient island. The island will no longer be an extractive, linear industry but an economy with the use of short circuits. This will be achieved by encouraging the local economy and promoting a circular economy, for example: using waste as a resource.

On the scale of ＠t Oud Postje, the existing qualities of the location will be reinforced and the community spirit will be increased by the participation of the neighborhood in the new local, circular economy on the site; food will be grown, eaten, and sold in the Productive Playgarden.
