The Instafamily

Thinking back to the framed childhood photos that used to be treasured on shelves, one wonders what has now replaced this wonderful tradition. Thousands of photos taken on your phone and posted on social media. Instagram and Facebook have become the modern photo albums that hold our memories. Many young parents, wanting to share their happiness, post pictures of their children, but wanting to protect them from the evil eye, hide their faces behind emoji. Whereas previously family photos could only be seen when visiting close friends or relatives, now we can see almost anyone's private life. Is that good or bad? And what lies behind public photos? This project is about how insecure our personal space is in today's networks and how fragile our "family photo album" is.
