▲ The growth of the tree has two sides, inside and outside. We watch the color of its leaves change to remind ourselves of the passage of time, while where we can't see, the trunk tries its best to grow new rings inward. A year has passed with the leaves, and the width of the ring tells itself what the year is like. The rings are always fair in front of time. When the new year comes, the trees are new, and so are you.
▲ 树木的生长有内外两面，我们看它树叶的颜色变化来提醒自己时间的流逝，而在我们看不见的地方，树干用尽全力向内长出新的年轮。它用树叶向外征告一年又过去了，用年轮的宽度来告诉自己，这一年究竟如何。年轮在时间面前永远公平，新的一年来临时，树木是崭新的，你也是。
◆ The back of the calendar tends to face the wall. When trees grow, everything turns inward, and so do human beings. Trees change in four colors in a year, and one still has to look inward for answers about how one is doing this year. The world sees that you and I only go to work and eat every day and rush to sleep. In fact, it is more than that. Maybe I have a period of colorful days, when I exercise, I use red to draw it, and when I have a good dream, I may use a blue pen. If the year is approaching, your rings will have more blue at first glance, at least you had enough sleep last year.
◆ 日历的背面往往朝向墙壁。树木生长时一切向内，人类也是如此，树木一年变化四色，一个人这一年究竟过得如何还是要向内寻求答案。世人看你我不过日日上班吃饭，赶路睡觉，其实也不止，可能我有一段彩色日子，运动的时候用红色去把它画出来，做了好梦的日子也许用蓝色的笔，如果一年将至你的年轮一眼看去有更多的蓝色，至少你去年拥有足够的睡眠。
▲ Looking at the front of the calendar is actually the same as when people look at trees, January is green, because it is new, February is pink, because lovers all over the world have a common holiday this month, March is blue, as the temperature rises gradually, the sky becomes clearer. Its color reminds us of what we care about in the current day and what kind of people we should spend with.
▲ 看日历的正面其实和人类看树木一样，1月是绿色，因为它是新生；2月是粉色，因为全世界的恋人都在这个月有共同的节日；3月是蓝色，因为气温逐渐上升天空愈加明朗…它的颜色提醒着我们当下的日子有些什么值得在意之处，值得和怎样的人一起度过。
◆ The calendar shows everyone the same appearance when it looks outward. It can be a decorative painting with a calendar function. When the calendar is inward, it is more like our own examination of the year, it may become a more functional note sticker, in the seemingly static time, maybe we are active enough to fill the white date, life will have more color.
◆ 日历向外时给所有人展示相同的样子，它可以是有日历功能的装饰画。日历向内时则更像我们对自己一年的审视，它也许变成功能性更强的记事贴，在看似静滞的时间里，也许我们足够主动积极地去填满白色的日期，生命就会有更多的色彩。
“The time of ring calendar” has been selected to receive the “Certificate of Typographic Excellence” in the TDC Communication Design @typedirectorsclub New York and the Young Ones TDC Competitions.#tdc68
It will be included in the Annual of the Type Directors Club, The World’s Best Typography®, and will also be shown at the 68th Awards Exhibition (TDC68) in the Gallery in Cooper Union, New York City. It will be also included in eight (8) exhibitions that will tour dozens of cities in the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, South Korea, Spain and Taiwan.
This year 253 winners were selected from over 2000 entries from 62 countries.
My project will be part of the exhibition tour, taking place in the United States, Canada, England, France, Germany, Japan, New Zealand, Poland, South Korea, Spain and Taiwan.
Awards
