The Pietà was a popular subject among northern european artists. It means Pity or Compassion, and represents Mary sorrowfully contemplating the dead body of her son.The scene of the Pieta shows the Virgin Mary holding the dead body of Christ after his crucifixion, death, and removal from the cross, but before he was placed in the tomb.

This scene always inspires me to keep going on, in my life to work hard, to be compassionate, regardless of circumstances. And working on this with my favourite medium pencils was an extraordinary experience.
