The Chariot of Giving

I was very happy to participate in the competition held by Haval x Dunhuang Museum. My work "The Chariot of Giving" was based on one of the scenes in Cave 420 of the Mogao Grottoes:  A picture of Bodhisattva donating various chariots to the masses.

This competition is related to cars, so my picture mainly described: The Bodhisattva with a great image donated various chariots: elephant chariots, 4 horses chariots, and human chariots to the public. These chariots looked respectfully to the Bodhisattva.

From ancient time to the present, transportation has played an important role in our lives. At the same time, Feitian (Flying apsaras) rang the bell and flew in the auspicious clouds, and the sound of the Buddha was soft and wonderful, which was pleasant to hear. The Bodhisattva held a large lotus, and the lotus in his hand swept  over the plants of Lingjiu Mountain, becoming full of vitality, and the Lingjiu Mountain behind also turned into a spirit vulture bird. The spirit vulture bird was attracted by the sparkling lotus and looked intently.

In the past, people had good thoughts in their hearts, and Bodhisattvas gave them chariots. Nowadays, human living standards are getting better and better. Many people can afford the car, which is convenient for daily travel. They should also remember to have good thoughts in their hearts and cherish a good life.
Detail 1:
Bodhisattva is related to Buddhism. Bodhisattva has a feeling of kindness, which is to save and enlighten all beings. Its body refers to the Bodhisattva statue in the mural, with dark skin. But when I created it, I added stars shining, which means the Buddha's light is shining, and it also represents the meaning of giving. The Bodhisattva gives his love, kindness and precious objects to the world.
Detail 2:
This is the Lingjiu Mountain behind the Bodhisattva. According to the relevant Mogao Grottoes documents, the top of the mountain resembles a vulture bird. The lotus flower of the Bodhisattva shone with light, and the flowers and trees that it swept over also became lush.
Detail 3:
Elephant chariots, 4 horses chariots, and human chariots looked very lively. The bodhisattva donating chariots showed that transportation was very important to people's lives at that time.
