Beirut Cruise Terminal

Beirut Cruise Terminal
An eternal conflict between light and dark following the devastating 2020 explosion of the Beirut port, reflecting an anaphora between the destruction and reconstruction of the city.
This project reposes on the concept of drilling the ground, deploying a grid vertically from the earth, giving life to the metaphor: rising from the ashes.
A 5x5m grid has been layered on the plot taking into consideration 3 factors:
•The proportion of the project
•Mediation between the project and the city
•The project’s relationship with the sea.
The “pixelated” aspect of the project is preserved through the metallic structure that overlaps the whole public space on the upper level, as well as through the defined areas in the lower level reserved for the travelers.
