Traditional yet highbrow essence

We were asked to redesign the red wines’ series labels for Ktima Karipidis, having also designed the previous labels almost a decade ago. As requested, our basis was to not alter the design we had already created but to attach it to the brand’s system we had evolved through the years. Our redesign approach enhanced the use of typographic elements to create a bold and more eye-catching label, leaving room for the illustrations inspired by the coins of ancient Krannonas. These rare coins were discovered during excavations in the area where the winery is housed, near where today’s vines grow. A modern yet highbrow aesthetic, that accomplishes the objective of staying true to the winery’s traditional essence.

Athens _______ Greece
Petraeus
The first horse was born in thessaly and was released on earth following poseidon’s godly hit with his trident; hence the god’s epithet Petraeus (stone breaker). It symbolizes water galloping, the precondition for a rich and fertile soil.
Hydria
In ancient times, the hydria (urn) was a kind of amphora that was used to transport and store water. ‘amphora’ a compound word meaning amphi- (’on both sides’) and phoreus (’carrier’) refers to the urn’s two carrying handles on opposite sides.
Petasos
Petasos is a sun hat of thessalian origin worn by the ancient greeks. It was worn primarily by horsemen and farmers, and was considered characteristic of rural people.
