Order to disorder

Where do orders come from?

Over time and generations we were constantly bombarded with rules and orders, given to us or –handed down to us- from different sources of authority. It starts with a simple look from a parent to a child, and it grows bigger as we grow older in the form of detentions, laws, or fines. We suddenly realize that orders come to us from everywhere, politicians, men of religion, or anybody in a status allowed access to a constitution.

Disorder, although it means to directly break any of the “orders” given, is not necessarily a negative reaction. On the other hand, if we are not allowed the space to defy orders, they will lose their meaning.

What would happen if certain orders are changed, or replaced by different orders? Can we imagine a Muslim woman in a Burka falling in love with a pierced and tattooed man having in mind both come from two extreme backgrounds? Can these two people within the orders and restrictions that we currently live in meet? Will they ever be able to converse?

Will this veiled woman, living her life normally and leading the lifestyle she’s been leading all her life, ever imagine herself falling in love with this tattooed man? Due to the order she is limited to, her mind won’t even imagine such a thing happening. At the same time, I don’t think that a pierced tattooed man, leading his own normal life, will ever dream or fantasize about a veiled woman in a Burka.

This is what I am trying to reach, I want to bring those two people together with all the orders and restriction from both their sides, and break the order by putting them together.
