Hard Times
Motion Graphic
The goal of this motion graphic is to express the song, Hard Times, through shapes, motion, and color. The choice of bright and neon shades of purple, blue, pink, and yellow was inspired by the upbeat and 80s sound of the song’s instrumentals, while the movement and formation of shapes was inspired by the specific beats and rhythms in the different sections. Frames of organized and ordered patterns contrast with frames of shapes that are seemingly displaced to highlight the differences of sound and visual elements. All together, each act and frame are meant to convey the visual language of the instrumental music.
