One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest Book Cover Design

 

The Brief - Create a book cover for the book 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest'. It needs to represent themes throughout the book as well as being relevant and eye catching.

 

My Approach - I created two different versions of the book. The first was in the style of a playing card as they are a prominant theme throughout the film. I then edited it so that the bottom of the card was a queen, which represents the idea that the main character has much more influence over the other patients than the nurse in charge.

 

My second approach was completely random, my only justification was that the main character is 'nuts like crunchy nut'. I just thought it was a really playful cover that would attract attention, however it does not represent the book at all.
