the objective of this project was to design a typeface in a team and to create a print specimen highlighting said typeface. myself, madi shrag, and jed aldrich created the typeface we named lazaire. for process and inspiration, click here. 

lazaire is a condensing of the word quellazaire. a quellazaire is a 1920s long stick cigarette holder. the team wanted the type to feel dark, elegant, and mysterious. personified, lazaire is a widower whose husband died under strange circumstances.
