Rancho Grande Glass Frog: Vitreorana antisthenesi.

Glass frogs are amphibians of the Centrolenidae family, whose main characteristic is their fragile appearance and, often, a transparent belly. Vitreorana antisthenesi is an endemic species of Venezuela that inhabits the cloudy, mountainous and submontane forests of the Cordillera de la Costa and Serranía del Interior, in the north of the country. Its distinctive features are its green dorsal coloration with yellow dots, internal organs covered with white peritoneum visible through the belly, and green bones; In addition to presenting beautiful bluish flashes in the light on your skin. It is of nocturnal and arboreal habits; they deposit their eggs on the back or underside of the leaves, in the vegetation above water currents, at a height of up to three meters. The larvae develop and when the eggs hatch, the tadpoles fall directly into the water. It is listed as Vulnerable to extinction by the IUCN.
