Vizcaya Park is a proposed LEED certified mixed-use transit-oriented community built around the Miami Metrorail Vizcaya Station. Vizcaya Park features density that is thoughtfully designed to create connections, bringing together a diverse mix of residential and retail uses and multiple transit options under one roof within a scale and design that complement and integrate with the community.
The design concept as proposed will include the following elements within a 10- story structure: 288 multi-family residential units with breathtaking views, 19,040 square feet of street level curated retail space, state of the art amenities, secure
covered parking, and a reimagined multimodal transit hub.
Vizcaya Park features strong horizonal lines with residential towers set back and articulated with decks and terraces, while vines and local trees and shrubs fill the project with living greenery. Architectural and landscaping features along with public art throughout the development create high-quality spaces around the metro station, and mirror the personality of surrounding neighborhoods known for their wide tree-covered streets, gardens, and overall peaceful residential feel. The project will be an ark – a vessel that creates connections and offers sanctuary.
The building podium evokes the hull of a ship, while spacious balconies and terraces wrapped around residential towers suggest the decks of a cruise liner. A wind rose motif and wave shapes in the central plaza reinforce a nautical theme, while also echoing design features at Vizcaya Gardens. For the post-pandemic world, Vizcaya Park will offer a new generation of urban living.: countering the compressed, cramped stereotype of high-density development by emphasizing light, air, space, and sense of shelter and transport.
Vizcaya Park will be an appropriate 100th anniversary addition to The Roads district, which was designed by Mary Brickell in the early 1920s as a pedestrian-friendly and accessible neighborhood surrounded by native plants, and offering a centrally located, affordable, and high-quality place to live. Vizcaya Park also pays tribute to and fosters connections with the neighboring Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, and the developing Underline trail.
