CYNC Outdoor Cameras
The brief was simple- design a family of smart outdoor cameras (wired and battery powered) to fit within Cync's growing smarthome lineup.
From project kickoff, the goal was to share as many design elements as possible between the two cameras.
From our research, key Experience Principles emerged as key to a positive install and use experience:
Minimize install time, Minimize Downtime, and Minimize trips up and down the ladder.
Using the CYNC EBL (Experience Brand Language), user and product requirements as guardrails for design exploration, we focused on mounting functionality, Battery integration and access, and overall footprint and visual design.
DESIGNED FOR THE OUTDOORS
Carrying over the Experience Brand Language and CMF strategy established with previous Cync outdoor products, the Outdoor Cameras are designed to consider and echo the outdoor environment and fit right in with the Cync smart home hardware family.

Every detail of the CYNC Outdoor cameras where designed to help the homeowner peace of mind, without being intimidating. everything from the discrete yet accessible SD card access, to the cable management, the Cync Outdoor cameras where designed to be simple and easy.
EASY INSTALL.
The CYNC Outdoor cameras can be installed in minutes, with no prior DIY experience required. Simply attach the bracket in place, slide the camera on, adjust to the desired angle, and plug it in. With a secure locking ball joint, there's no need to worry about camera theft or not capturing the perfect angle you set.
WIRE FREE, WORRY FREE.
The Cync Battery Outdoor Camera is designed for easy DIY setup and installation, but gives you the freedom to install without worrying about the nearest outlet.
MINIMIZE DOWNTIME.
With a rechargeable interchangeable battery pack that are easily swapped out, you can minimize the downtime between charges.
Minimize Trips Up & Down the Ladder.
The magnetic mount is combined with a locking ball joint, designed to save the angle and position of the camera when its removed and redocked- eliminating the need to readjust the angle every time you swap out the battery.
SHARING A LANGUAGE
Both the wired and battery versions incorporate the same design elements, making them a strong and consistent experience that fits in nicely with the larger Cync lineup.
