(E) For this project for Oshi Sushi we were requisited to do a artwork that could represent both the brand and it origins in a traditional but remixed way. The use of the colors black, white and red as well the use of classic elements of the japanese elements were a nice choice. Here's the original wall and the sketch we made:

(P) Para o projeto realizado para o Oshi Sushi foi requisitada uma arte que representasse a marca e suas origens de uma maneira tradicional mas remixada. O uso das cores preto, branco e vermelho assim como o uso de elementos clássicos da cultura nipônica foram uma escolha imediata.  Abaixo temos a parede original e o sketch do viria a ser a arte final.

(E) For the second part of this project we develop this wood panel made of 4 blocks of 4 x 15 meters, we wanted to make a decoration that could be huge and beautiful but at the same time mobile. We choose the image of the Koi as it symbolizes luck, courage, strenght and perseverance.

(P) Para a segunda parte do projeto foi pensado uma painel interno de MDF feito de 4 placas de 4 x 1,5 m afim de ser uma decoração que fosse móvel e estéticamente agradável. A escolha pela imagem da Koi está ligada com o que esse animal simboliza na cultura oriental: sorte, coragem, força e perseverança.

(E) Based on the original sketch of the Koi we used 4 blocks of wood to create the panel. After a first base of acrylic, we draw the original drawing and cut the wood on its format. Using spray paint we made the colors and later the stroke using a brush and black acrylic paint. At last, we installed the panel using screws.

(P) Baseado no esboço original da Koi se usaram 4 placas de mdf de 2 x 1 m para criar o painel. Após umas primeira base de acrílico, foi esboçado o desenho e depois recortado no formato. Usando tinta spray fosca foram adicionadas as cores e mais tarde o contorno for feito com tinta acrílica e pincel. Por último, instalamos os paineis com parafusos e bastidores.

(E) After some good days of thunderstoms and 37 degrees of boiling sun the mural was finished. The use of duct tape was necessary to create the solid shapes, we also used chalk to make the sketchs.

 

(P) Depois de uns bons dias de temporais e sol de 37º, o mural externo conseguiu ser finalizado. O uso de fitas para criar formas sólidas se deu necessário, assim como o uso de giz para marcação dos sketchs.
