Linear Refraction - Light Design

Linear Refraction
/ Ambient Light

Linear Refraction series is customized lighting for Hotel 35. Located in Lishui, the capital of photography, Hotel 35 is the first design hotel in China which merged art village and tourism industry and create a new business model type.
We tried to explore the relationship between time, space, and person under the theme of photography. Linear Refraction series creates a contemporary composition of geometry in the hotel room, and respond to the photography of art.

「 The design of the Linear Refraction series is inspired by the phenomenon known as the rainbow. 」

Considering the different demands of travelers and the product’s duration, we spent much time adjusting the details of the product. From designing to making, we not only creates original design style and art performance but also merges sensibility and rationality to realize practical value. Challenging the limit of manufacturing art and fuse traditional craft and unique conception, Ray practiced the aesthetic value of light and shadow.

Linear Refraction - Floor Light

The Linear Refraction - Floor Light consists of a circle and lines. The round glass board of the floor light projects colorful shadows that enrich any indoor environment. Users can freely rotate the glass board 360 degrees to create an array of shadows in a spectrum of shades.

Linear Refraction - Desk Light

The crystal glass base embodies the water vapor in the air, refracting white light into a multitude of colors. There are two modes of usage. When laying down the linear light horizontally, it becomes an adjustable reading light. When sitting it up vertically, the light illuminates from within the crystal glass base to create a colorful fantasy atmosphere. The inspired use of this crystal clear design makes the Linear Refraction - Desk Light an exquisite art installation of both form and function.

Linear Refraction - Pendant Light

By placing light between glass platforms, the Linear Refraction - Pendant Light creates overlapping halos that pass through each plane, rendering the wall in gorgeous colors. The logo on the LED head is a flicker-free touchable light switch for brightness adjustment. When turned on with a light touch, the pendant light resumes at its previously set brightness level.
