Lampe is a simple Lighting concept aimed to create ambient mood lighting in your workplace or by your bedside. The Completely hollow design ensures complete light dispersion, eliminating strong direct light being emitted from the light, creating only pleasant environments.
The process for designing Lampe started sketching a bunch of forms that would translate well with a diffuse material, and be suited for a desk / table mounted form factor. These sketches were quickly rendered on photoshop to help communicate their forms better.
Reviewing the sketches with peers and friends, the lamp with a hollow form was highly voted for, it afforded for the lights to sit within the walls of the lamp itself giving it a smooth undisturbed finish, as well as a even gradience and diffused flow of light.
After Finalizing on the form, I went on to create a scale 3D model of the lamp to test out its in hand feel, and take it through its paces to understand how well it performs. Attention was given to the small details of how the pats would attach, lights be inserted and the lamp be operated.
After testing the 3D model I went on to visualize the lamp in colors and materials it would be manufactured in. I also played with the environments it would be placed in to help ground it in reality and convey my concept more clearly.
