This project called for a product that would be endorsed by a deceased celebrity. George Herman Ruth, also known as Babe Ruth was one of the best baseball players to have played the game. He was also known for partying and smoking cigars. I came up with the idea of creating "baseball bat" shaped cigars. After creating the logo in Adobe Illustrator, I then woodburned the logo into the cigar box on the front and on the inside. I then handrolled some cigars in the shape of baseball bats, and designed the "bat holders" with wooden pegs. The image in the background was a found image re-worked in Adobe Photoshop. To complete the package, a cigar cutter and a book of "Great Bambino" matches are included. I then photographed the cigar box on home plate with a baseball and a wooden bat, similiar to the bat that Ruth would have been using in his time. This photograph was used for the print ad that accompanied the cigar box. "Baseball changes through the years. It gets milder. The Great Bambino Cigars are always mild and smooth, with a grand slam finish."
