Private portrait commission. I was commissioned to draw this portrait of the client's grandparents, of whom they have almost no pictures. The portrait was based on a slightly blurry photo that was likely shot in the 40s-50s and which had also been hand-coloured.
I chose to remain close to the palette of the source and to frame them with geraniums, which was the favourite flower of the client's grandmother.
