I have had the honor to be the designer for the plant journal and the teacher's guide for the plant growing contest "Dārznīca". This year it is the third time the contest has been held. Children from 1st to 6th grade will try to grow willow, maple and quince which will all later be planted in the children's respecitve surroundings. Thus increasing the understanding of plants and making their environment better.
The participants received a plant growing kit which consisted of a willow plant, maple and quince seeds, specially prepared soil, pots and fertilizer, as well as informational material for teachers, a plant journal and a ruler to measure the progress of the plant's growth.
