This project is an example of how light, diffused under a slightly opaque surface, can animate 3D objects.  The project above is a PCB circuit board with 20 mounted Neopixels, and a button.  The combination of these components gives this PCB three different functions that range from off to rainbow mode.  The last mode makes the mountains display snow falling and is my personal favorite.
