HELGA HÄRENSTAM  HOWLING & HUMANS
howling and humans is photo book i thoroughly enjoyed looking at. when discussing the aesthetic of this book, i was very attracted to the strict colour themes on each page. for example the page where you can see two images of someone swimming work well together in terms of colour even though the images are similar. also throughout this book there is a balance between lighter and darker images which i think reflect the scene itself. this is something i have been trying to experiment with in my own work, as i feel like the brightness has an impact on how we view the photo itself. most images within this output are sequenced in terms of colour which is something i want to take note of and work with. when making my own output this is something i cant to closely consider as i want my book to look aesthetically pleasing for the viewer, however i want to try and form different moods by using multiple colour pallets es within my outputs. also on one page you can see where the artist has used a dip titch image over the cross of a double page, this is something i want to play around with, especially when using some of my landscape images which i want to be more clear and visible. the only thing i am not a fan of within this book is way the photographs are laid out. i would personally like to experiment with all kind of layouts however i wouldn't like every page of images to be in the same format, as i want some images to be larger than others when it comes to the context of them.
