Mnemosyne from Greek means memory. Pierre Nora wrote a lot about memory, defining the concept of places of memory
and the memory of places. Significant places, especially worshiped or witnessing important or tragic events. We want to remember about places that are significant to us because it builds our identity. We want to commemorate these places in a special way, e.g. by erecting monuments.

The photobook is a collection of such monuments in the form of obelisks from around the world commemorating various events and history.

The collection of photos included in the photobook also directly relates to the research on the archives of Aby Warburg and his famous Atlas.
