Pætti is an e-commerce digital solution that allows you to create your own clothes. It aims to ignite the revolution in how we buy, use and reuse clothes and textiles.
You can choose between different bases, necklines, sleeves, pockets and waistbands. When you are satisfied with your design, your pattern arrives straight into your inbox with step-by-step instructions, fabric recommendations and videos of how to sew your design.

Problem
Foster the change in the clothing industry and help impulse fast fashion shoppers convert into responsible consumers.
The clothing industry accounts for around 8% of the world's greenhouse gas emissions, according to the report from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. Consumerism and the throw-away society contribute to this trend. Advertising campaigns encourage buying new products in continuously increasing amounts. People tend to purchase new clothes and then never actually wear them. This generates new challenges when it comes to textile waste on a scale we have never experienced before.
With the sustainable approach we aim to tackle the immense amount of carbon footprint generated by the fashion industry by decreasing greenhouse gas emissions.
Solution
Design sprint methodology and lean canvas were used to explore ideas, create basic prototypes and test hypothesis with users.To stand out in a market focused on uniqueness and exceptional quality, we wanted to create a playful, witty and inspirational digital tool. The MVP was a mix and match online application, where users can make their own garments by combining different styles displayed on a virtual doll named Pætti.
Illustrations
The goal was to create characters that are relatable and everyone can identify with them. They are inclusive and represent different features. Pætti is a medium-sized girl with different hairstyles and skin colors. Her personality is witty, mischievous and cute. In the app, the dolls are generated randomly on every page refresh. There are also easter eggs implemented on click events.
Design system
The design system with interactive, multi-variant components allowed to generate hundreds of doll illustrations and all the stackable garment patterns. It also ensured interface consistency.
