Lab 5: Audition Poem

Lab 5: Audition Poem
I picked a poem that resonated with me and provided some social commentary. I haven't read many poems out loud before and certainly never recorded one before. This was an interesting project that was a first for me.
Step 1:  Selecting my tracks

I went onto SoundBible.com and found a few complementary clips. After downloading the sound clips and loading them into Adobe Audition, I was able to create a multitrack session and begin selecting the specific clips I wanted to use. I was able to use the Solo tool to listen to each track and identify sections that I liked.
Step 2: Cutting secondary tracks

I used the cutting tool to trim the selections down to the specific parts I wanted to use.
Step 3: Placing secondary clips.

I moved my selections down to to their own tracks so they can be aligned with my primary track.
Step 4: Aligning the secondary tracks.

I aligned my secondary tracks to enhance my poem.
Step 5: Adjusting gain levels on my secondary tracks.

I adusted the fade in and fade out of each clip so the transitions are less abrupt. I also adjust the gain levels so the sounds belong to the background of the piece. They are supposed to compliment the original piece, not overpower it.

My piece was complete and I was able to export the multitrack out to a single audio file.
Gratitude:
I would like to thank everyone who everyone who read my journal, Nova for teaching the course and my classmates for inspiring me with their work. I would also like to thank everyone who provided free and open source content for all of us to use and those who create free tutorials.

I hope you enjoyed my Poem.
