Fragmentation Archive
File Fragmentation describes a group of files that are scattered throughout a hard drive platter instead of one continuous location. Fragmentation is caused when information is deleted from a hard drive and small gaps are left behind to be filled by new data.
As new data is saved to the hard drive, it is placed in these gaps. If the gaps are too small, the remainder of what weeds to be saved is stored in the next available gabs.
The Archive on this website is a simple visualization of a hard disk storing system. The content is translated into grows composed of fragmented plants. Everybody can interact with the System and contribute their choice of plants to the archive system. With the timeline tool, you can retrace the growing and dying of the archived plant structure
