Professor Alan Jamieson (then Dr.) sits heavily atop the orange landers he engineered for the collection of deep sea samples. The machinery and research vessel are cast in shadow as the landers appear to submerge with a flag of contamination.

Chequered yellow and black in place of the original yellow, it now symbolizes the persistant organic pollution (P.O.P) the research will uncover and the contamination humans bring to every finely balanced ecosystem on the planet.
