Typography Identity - Clarendon

Clarendon is the typeface presented in type specimen side and graphic side poster. Clarendon is a slab-serif typeface created in England by Robert Besley. This font is published in 1845. Clarendon typeface is always used in an official printing media, shown formal, powerful and attentive.
This project is utilized a folding poster to creatively promote and introduce a typeface. The folding poster is displayed through the combination of modern and classic elements. Not only it can be keep the original style, but also advantageously competed in the contemporary marketing. For the folding part, my concept is used pop-up folding to make it appealing and get attention. The cover page describes the typeface name and published year. It is made up by two leaves that can be separately pulled up and down in both sides. During the opening, part of the graphic side is occurred and worked effective with the cover page in black background. After open the folding, the first page is shown the information of this typeface, included rationale, relevant and interesting facts, published location, designer and his short introduction, the weight and the size of Clarendon typeface. Flip back to half-open poster, it is the third page that display the family typeface located in the central composition. The forth page is the graphic side which is underneath the typing part.

For the concept of the graphic typography presentation, there is a letter gradient from neat and regular letters to irregular letters combination. Especially at the bottom part, the changing shape of each letter demonstrates that the typeface is kept changing into more contemporary style. The irregular letters with the numerous lines produces a flow in the overall block. It increases the development with suitable physically gradient and movement in the visual presentation.
