The Lake and the Cat
'The Lake and the Cat' is a short film about my trip to 'The Native Place', which is in Uksan, a village off Kamshet, which is on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway. It is sort of a homestay-esque site by a lake where I went with my parents and my pet cat for three days. The idea was to capture the essence of the trip in a fairly romanticized manner which would be accentuated by a very warm tone representing the colors of summer.

This trip happened before I had joined my college. I used a Oneplus 5T to shoot.

Color
I did very basic color grading while editing the film to bring out the warm tones.
Aspect Ratio
I played along with the aspect ratio of certain shots to explore what kind of an effect it would create.
This resulted in such frames being given a certain importance because the focus was narrowed down to a particular place in the frame. Overall, these shots romanticized the film further and gave a lot of visual variation for the viewer to look at.
Motif
The setting being a rural one, we were surrounded by a ton of greenery. But the small houses, buildings and hints of modern architecture provided an interesting contrast, which I thought of capturing through my composition.
Editing Exploration
Showing two shots at the same time, which compliment each other.
More Stills
Music
I used one of my tracks called 'Stones'.
